- 音频、字幕与译文在你的 Windows 设备上处理;
- 不需要持续联网(首次下载本地模型除外);
若你主动切换到云端 ASR / MT / TTS(如通义千问、小米 MiMo、腾讯混元或其他你自行接入的服务), 相关音频或文本将按该服务的协议发送给对应厂商。
- API Key 由你自行在厂商处开通并填入客户端;
- 费用、配额、限流与数据处理规则以该厂商条款为准;
6. Steam
- 选择本地或云端引擎;
- 查看、导出、删除本机历史与配置;
- 卸载软件并自行清理应用数据目录;

Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
“We”, “us”, and “TransBox” in this policy refer to the TransBox product team and our official Windows client. TransBox is a modular AI simultaneous-interpreting workstation for Windows 10/11, available on Steam, with Workshop extensibility.
2. Data we process
To provide live recognition, translation, and speech, the client may process the following on your device:
| Data | Purpose | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone / system audio | ASR and the interpreting pipeline | Only if you enable cloud ASR/MT/TTS — sent to the service you configured |
| Transcripts / translations | Captions, history, read-aloud | Same as above; stays local with offline engines |
| API keys you enter | Access your chosen cloud engines | Stored in local client config; sent to that vendor when you call it |
| Settings, themes, glossaries | UI and terminology personalization | Local by default; Workshop content is distributed by Valve |
We do not require an account and do not build a central user profile of your conversations.
3. On-device processing (recommended default)
The factory default uses local offline engines (e.g. Qwen3-ASR, Tencent Hunyuan Hy-MT2-1.8B, Kokoro-82M). In this mode:
- Audio, captions, and translations are processed on your Windows device;
- No continuous network connection is required (except the first model download);
- TransBox does not upload conversation content to us for interpreting itself.
4. Third-party cloud services
If you switch to cloud ASR / MT / TTS (Qwen, Xiaomi MiMo, Tencent Hunyuan, or any service you connect), related audio or text is sent to that vendor under their terms.
- You open and enter your own API keys;
- Billing, quotas, rate limits, and data handling follow that vendor’s policies;
- TransBox only provides the client and adapters and does not host or resell third-party LLM quota.
Read the vendor’s privacy policy before enabling cloud engines, especially for meetings, healthcare, or legal use.
5. Where data is stored
- Settings & keys: local client configuration (user config / app data directories).
- History: if enabled, captions and translations are stored locally and can be exported or cleared by you.
- Models: local engine weights are stored in a local cache/model directory after download.
You can disable history, wipe local data, or uninstall the client at any time.
6. Steam Workshop & extensions
Workshop themes, glossaries, language packs, and engine extensions are distributed through Valve / Steam. Third-party code extensions (Python, middleware, etc.) run with the same permissions as the main app — install only from sources you trust.
Prefer pure data packs (glossaries, themes, language packs) when possible. Use Workshop Safe reset if something breaks.
7. Logs & diagnostics
The client may write local logs for crashes, connectivity, and engine latency. Logs stay on your device unless you package and submit them (e.g. GitHub Issues or support). Review logs for sensitive dialogue before sharing.
8. Children
TransBox is intended for users with appropriate digital literacy. Where local law requires parental consent, use the product under guardian supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your rights
- Choose local or cloud engines;
- Inspect, export, and delete local history and settings;
- Uninstall and clear application data yourself;
- Contact us about privacy questions using the channels below.
Because we typically do not hold an identifiable conversation database, requests to “delete server data” will be answered by explaining that such content is not stored on TransBox-operated servers by default; also exercise your rights with any cloud vendor you enabled.
10. Policy changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes update the “Last updated” date on this page and may be announced in-app or on the site. Continued use means you accept the revised policy.
